The National Association of Minority Contractors (NAMC) is a full service, non-profit minority business, trade, educational
and advocacy association established in 1969, to address the needs and concerns of minority contractors nationwide. Currently,
NAMC’s Membership covers 50 states and the District of Columbia, and extends to more than 5,000 minority contractors. NAMC’s
Membership consists of, but is not limited to, general contractors and subcontractors as regular Members, with manufacturers,
suppliers, local minority contractor associations, funded technical assistance organizations, state and local government agencies,
engineers, architects, attorneys, and accountants as affiliate or associate Members. The Major Corporate Partner Program Members
include construction managers, large general contractors, and major purchasers of construction services.
NAMC is headquartered
in Washington, D.C. As a full service Membership organization, NAMC’s headquarters’ staff is committed to the enhancement
of member firms and provides Members with many programs and services. These services are intended to extend far beyond the
minority construction entrepreneur. They extend to people they employ and to the communities in which they live and operate.
The services provided by NAMC often involve personal assistance to individual Members.
NAMC’s “trade” activities include
continuously reviewing, analyzing, and recommending changes and improvements in matters that affect the growth and stability
of the construction industry. NAMC’s interests encompass financing, bonding, legislation, government regulations, union activities,
workforce availability and contracting opportunities. Factors which adversely affect minority contractors are made known to
the financial and business institutions as well as to the local, state and federal Legislators.
NAMC’s educational
programs include workshops and seminars at the Annual Convention, Mid-Winter Conference and Fall Retreat. Workshops cover
such subjects as Productivity Improvement, Developing Stronger Management Teams, Quality Control Affirmative Action, Joint
Ventures, Environmental Issues, Litigation or Arbitration, Contracts’ Law, Procurement Opportunities and Showcases by the
Major Corporate Partners. NAMC’s advocacy role will continue as an effective and knowledgeable voice for minority contractor
development. NAMC shall work to secure a fare share of the construction market for minority contractors.
“Building
Bridges-Crossing Borders” is our mandate and goal. We provide the mutual ground for sharing expertise to economically enhance
both minority and majority firms. The Major Corporate Partner Program (MCP Program) is an avenue that can build bridges between
minority and majority firms.
NAMC extends an invitation to join the MCP Program and work with us to exceed our goal
in the year .
Our Mission
